Virginia Rose Obituary

Virginia Ann Rose, 85, of New Lebanon, OH and formerly of Germantown, OH, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday morning, October 15, 2013. Born in Dayton, OH, she was a daughter of the late Burley & Ruth (Johnson) Gisewite. She worked for over 30 years at Frigidaire/Harrison Radiator Division of General Motors. A longtime member of the First Church of God in Germantown, she was also a member of the Dayton Motorcycle Club. An avid and competitive bingo and euchre player, she attended activities at the Farmersville Senior Citizen Center. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death on March 21, 2002 by husband Chester F. Rose, whom she married June 25, 1949: brother and sisters Glenn Gisewite, Doris Swarts, Viola Gisewite and Beaulah Mendenhall. Survived by children Donna J. Napier & husband John of Trotwood; Darlene J. Raker & husband Jim of Germantown; Delinda Sorrell & husband Gary of Germantown; and Dennis J. Rose & wife Peggy of Chillicothe: grandchildren Layne Davis, Larry (Allison) Davis, Hollie (Tony) Sorrell-Miller, Brook (Korry) Sorrell-Frizzell, Brian (Sara) Cox, Donnie Rose, Diane Gulley and Dennis L. Rose: great grandchildren Kyffin Gordon, Amy Davis, Chester Davis, Madilyn Miller, Chase Miller, Audri Frizzell, Bryce Frizzell, Cameron Cox: great great grandchildren Carson and Caleb: brothers Harry (Rowena) Gisewite of Farmersville and Dale (Joyce) Gisewite of Morristown, TN: sister-in-law Janet Gisewite of New Lebanon: many nephews, nieces, other family and a host of friends: and her special 4-legged friend Buster. Friends may call on the family from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm Saturday, October 19, 2013 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Stephen Carney presiding.
