Sharon "Betty Boop" (Dunn) Wyatt

July 23, 1953 ~ July 15, 2023 (age 69) 69 Years Old

Sharon “Betty Boop” (Dunn) Wyatt

69, of Richmond, Indiana, peacefully joined her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ in her new Heavenly Home, Saturday, July 15, 2023.

She was born July 23, 1953, in Richmond, Kentucky, to the late Robert “Ed” and Bernice (Gregory) Dunn.

In addition to her parents, Sharon was preceded in death by her brothers-in-law, Ronald Runion and Donald Tschirgi; and special friends, Jim Holliman and Jim Grigsby.

She is survived by her daughters, Veronica Bowling, and her husband, John, and Cybil Parry; grandchildren, Hannah (Joshua) Richert, Jonathan Silvers, Jacob Stites, Grace Parry, and Emma Stites; sisters, Norma Runion and Bonnie Tschirgi; and nieces and nephews.

Sharon's love for the culinary arts was evident from an early age. After graduating from Northeastern High School, Class of 1971, she pursued her dreams at The Culinary Institute of America, where she honed her skills and creativity. Sharon had been the food service director and chef at SAGA and Marriott, and also for some universities and colleges, including Earlham College.

After leaving the food service industry, she became a caregiver to her parents. With selflessness and devotion, she cared for them with tenderness and respect, ensuring their comfort and well-being until they passed on. She retired from New Comfort Heating and Cooling as she became very close to the business owners who allowed her work schedule to accommodate her parent’s needs.

Beyond her culinary talents, Sharon was a devoted sports enthusiast, finding immense joy in football and baseball. Her passion for the Colorado Rockies was unrivaled, and she cheered for them with unwavering loyalty, through both the highs and lows of their seasons.

Sharon was a force to be reckoned with when it came to the game of Scrabble. Her friends and family fondly referred to her as the "Scrabble Queen," as she could effortlessly arrange letters to create words that left her opponents in awe.

But Sharon's talents didn't stop at the Scrabble board. In the realm of sewing, she was an absolute master. With just some thread and material, she could work magic, transforming simple fabrics into breathtaking works of art. From elegant costumes to cozy quilts, Sharon's creations were a testament to her creativity and skill.

Sharon's journey with the Living Faith Church of God began in her early years, as she began to attend in her grade school days. Throughout her life, she remained deeply committed to her faith, finding solace and guidance in the words of the Bible. Her presence in the church community was a source of inspiration to many, as she exuded warmth, compassion, and a genuine love for God's teachings.  One of Sharon's greatest joys was teaching children about the Bible.
