Mildred Wathen Obituary

Mildred Rose Wathen, 55, of Greenville, formerly of West Alexandria, passed away suddenly Sunday morning, October 31, 2021 at her home. Born January 26, 1966, she was the daughter of the late Elihue Couch, Jr. and Emma Laura (Davis) Couch. Mildred was a dedicated wife, mom, mammaw, sissy  and homemaker. She loved spending time with family, and together they built fond and lasting memories for each other. She had a special relationship with God through her hardships and disability. She enjoyed painting, online shopping and listening to Alan Jackson. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by son William Joseph Wathen, Jr. and brother David Matthew Couch.

Mildred is survived by beloved husband of 34 years William Joseph Wathen, Sr., whom she married on May 2, 1987:children and their families Laura Levaun Kuhn and husband Kevin Marcus Kuhn and their children Kaleb, Konner and Lily all of West Alexandria; Jennifer Rose Brubaker and husband Levi Alan Brubaker and their children Kailynn, Liam, Emmalynn and Laith all of Eaton; Rachel Jo Mejia and husband Raul Alexsander Mejia and their daughter Nora all of Harrison, OH; and William Joseph Wathen, Jr. II of Greenville: brother Elihue Couch, III and wife Michelle of Arcanum, OH; sister Stacy Laura Bolton and husband Barry of West Alexandria: and many nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on the family from 11:00 AM - 2:00 PM Friday, November 5, 2021 at the Preble Memory Gardens Funeral Center - 3377 US Rt. 35 E. - West Alexandria, OH. Funeral services will follow at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor George Glaze officiating, and conclude with burial at Fairview Cemetery, West Alexandria, where she will be laid to rest beside her son William.
