James Robert Butler

Age 19, of Camden, OH, went to be with the Lord on April 15, 2022 with his family by his side. He was born on November 14, 2002, in Dayton, OH, to Robert and Shawna (Lehman) Butler.

James was a 2021 Preble Shawnee High School graduate and had dreams of training animals and serving his country. He was a loving, giving, caring, kind soul that would do anything for anyone in need. James was active in the youth group and loved his church and was very knowledgeable when it came to the Bible. So knowledgeable, he could quote the Bible like no one else. Along with is faith, James loved traveling. From road trips to Albany’s Candy Factory in Indiana, to the backroads of Kentucky and Tennessee, James couldn’t get enough of the wildlife and history surrounding him. Some of his favorite activities were working on model planes with his dad, playing video games, or watching the Cincinnati Bengals play football. He was one of a kind and will be missed by all of those that knew and loved him.

James is preceded in death by paternal great grandparents, Glen and Evelyn Butler and Gene and Dorothy Larison; maternal great grandparents, Lowell and Eileen Markey and Elmer and Virginia Lehman; great uncle, Ronald Markey; great aunt, Mary Larson; and his precious fur baby, Kiki.

He is survived by his parents, Robert and Shawna Butler; brother, Bradly Butler; paternal grandparents, Glen and Rebecca Butler; maternal grandparents, Bernard J. and Rebecca Lehman; aunts, Patricia (Chris) Butler Wood, Carolyn Lehman, Heather (Jeff) Conaway; uncles, Bernard A. Lehman; numerous cousins; special cousin, Shawn Michael Lehman; and his fur baby, Gizzmo.

A visitation for James will be held Monday, April 25, 2022 from 5:00PM to 7:00PM at FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH in West Alexandria, OH. Funeral service will be held the following day, Tuesday, April 26, 2022 at FIRST BAPTIST CHURCH at 11:00AM, burial will follow at PREBLE MEMORY GARDENS. For condolences, please visit: www.rlcfc.com
