Gerald “Jerry” V. Guard

Gerald V. “Jerry” Guard, 77, of Eldorado, OH, passed into eternity on Saturday afternoon November 27, 2021. Jerry was born on September 9, 1944 in Middletown, OH, he was the third of four children born to the late Gale V. and Ethel L. (Moon) Guard. After graduation from high school, he went to work for Armco Steel in Middletown and retired after 31+ years of service. He also served for six years with the Army National Guard in Ohio and was discharged in January of 1969. An active member of Gateway Baptist Church in Eaton, he enjoyed fishing and  riding his motorcycle. In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death on October 31, 2017  by beloved wife Anna whom he married in 1998: sisters Gail Smith and Maggie Jane Webb.

Jerry is survived by children Cari (Patrick) Henschen of Lebanon, OH; Joseph (Jenn) Guard of Ocean Pines, MD; Blaine (April) Guard of Eden, MD; Roger Perry (Audrey Grubb) of  Eaton; Sheri (Joseph) Cannarozzi of Miamisburg; and Jason Perry of Brookville, OH: grandchildren Rachel Davis, Shelby Henschen, Joshua Henschen, Seth Henschen, Joey Guard, Jameson Guard, Austin Guard, Alaina Guard, Kyle Perry, Mackenzie Waxler, Kelsee Woods and Dustyn Perry: numerous great grandchildren: sister Bonnie Clark of Middletown; numerous nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on the family from 11:00 AM – 1:00 PM Saturday, December 4, 2021 at the Preble Memory Gardens Funeral Center – 3377 US Rt. 35 E. – West Alexandria, OH. Funeral services will follow at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Pastor David Auxier will officiate. After the service, Jerry will be laid to rest in Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery beside his beloved Anna.
