Eugene Sutton Obituary

Eugene C. Sutton 99, of Eaton, on Sunday, January 24, 2021 went Home to be with the Lord. He was born December 28, 1921 in Rockwood, Tennessee, to the late Walter James Sr. and Dora Lee (Golliher) Sutton. In addition to his parents, Eugene was preceded in death by his sister, Reba Dodd, and brothers, Carl Sutton and Walter Sutton, Jr. He is survived by his loving wife of 79 years, Hazel Sutton; son, Larry (Linda) Sutton; daughter, Pam (John) Furrey; grandchildren, Jeffrey Sutton and Lori (Josh) Chapin; great grandson, Jackson Chapin; brother, Waymond D. (Nancy) Sutton; and sister, Patricia Alexander. Eugene was a veteran of the US Army during World War II in the 10th Armored Division and spent time overseas in the European Theater. After working at GM for 10 years, he went to Ford, where he retired after 24 years of service. Eugene was a wonderful father and man of faith. Services will be private with a burial at Fairmound Cemetery in West Elkton with military honors.
