Chuck Kerns

85. of West Alexandria, went to be with the Lord, Tuesday, February 27, 2024.

He was born April 18, 1938, in Farmersville, to the late Charles David and Twyla L. (Munn) Kerns.

In addition to his parents, Chuck was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Bailey; and brother-in-law, Al Dryden.

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Sara Kerns; children, Don (Barb) Kerns, Kimberly Kerns, Mike (Kim) Porter, and Terri (Mike) Anderson; 9 grandchildren; numerous great grandchildren; and sisters, Vera Dryden and Janet (Don) Erbaugh.

Chuck proudly served his country in the U.S. Navy, where he demonstrated exceptional courage and commitment to duty. His time in the service instilled in him values of honor, loyalty, and sacrifice, traits that he carried with him throughout his life.

Outside of his military service, Chuck was a man of many passions. He found joy and excitement in the exhilarating sport of drag racing, where he thrived on the adrenaline rush of competing on the track, whether behind the wheel or cheering from the stands. Chuck also had a deep connection to the great outdoors. He cherished moments spent hunting in the woods and fishing on tranquil lakes, finding peace in nature's embrace.

In addition to his adventurous pursuits, Chuck was a dedicated entrepreneur and the proud owner of Century Manufacturing. Through hard work, ingenuity, and a steadfast commitment to excellence, he built his business from the ground up, leaving behind a legacy of success and integrity.

A visitation will be held Thursday, March 7 from 11AM to 1PM at PREBLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL CENTER, 3377 US Route 35 East, West Alexandria 45381.  The memorial service will begin at 1PM with Pastor Gary Wood officiating.  Burial will follow at Holp Cemetery, Farmersville.
