Sylvia J. Combs

Sylvia J. Combs, age 75, of Dayton, OH, passed away peacefully at her Jefferson Township home on Monday morning, October 14, 2013. Born in Harlan, KY, she was a daughter of the late Albert & Shirley (Woodard) Crider. She worked for over 27 years as a nursing assistant, first at St. Elizabeth Hospital for 20 years and retired after 7 years with Kettering Medical Center. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by sister Audrey Schreck. Survived by husband of 57 ½ years Richard Combs: children Donnie Combs & wife Teresa of Englewood; Tony Combs & wife Karen of Dayton; Tammy Crider & Jack Burnett, Jr. of Lewisburg; Terri Hawk & husband Marvin of New Lebanon: grandchildren Tony, Melissa, Andrew, Shaun, Ashley, Courtney, Corey, Cole and Conner: 5 great grandchildren: brothers and sisters Lily Jean Dixon of Englewood; Cliff Crider of Englewood; Louise Cohen of Troy, OH; Lois Napier of Beavercreek; Edna Napier of Beavercreek; Clayton Crider of Dayton; Jan Strange of New Lebanon; Carol Kniesley of West Milton; and Ronnie Crider of Centerville. Friends may call on the family from 12:00 - 2:00 PM Friday, October 18, 2013 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria.
