Nicholas Azzalina Obituary

Nicholas Azzalina, 59, of Eaton, OH, passed away on Saturday morning, March 6, 2021 at his home. That same morning, in unrelated circumstances and unknown to each other, Nick's eldest son Andrew, also passed away. Nick was born on August 15, 1961 in Cleveland, OH, he was the son of the late Carl and Patsy Jean (Campbell) Azzalina. A hard working and skilled ironworker, he worked for 23 years for the Iron Workers Union Local 290, most recently as a job superintendent. He loved the outdoors, riding his Harley, vegetable gardening, his backyard pool, and was a huge fan of the Indianapolis Colts. His whole blended family has fond and lasting memories of the annual Christmas gatherings. Nick is survived by children Tarin Azzalina (Kevin Naji) of Amelia, OH, Veronica Carr (Thomas) of Columbus, OH, Erin Azzalina of Eaton and Nicholas Azzalina, II of Eaton; grandchildren Tyson, Reagan, Tristan, Maverick, Falcon, Case, Michael, Alina, Ariya, and one on the way; brother Mark Campbell of Miamisburg and Terry Azzalina of Dayton; aunt Linda Gross of Dayton; significant other Jess Holler and her children Raelee and Dylan; former wives Patsy and Sharon; best friend Rick Buchannan; and his beloved dog Kevin. Visitation and services for both Nick and Drew will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021 from 2:00 - 5:00 PM at the Preble Memory Gardens Funeral Center - 3377 US Rt. 35, West Alexandria. Services will follow at 5:00 PM with Pastor Jeff Travis officiating. Andrew "Drew" Azzalina, 34, of Eaton, passed away suddenly on Saturday morning March 6, 2021. That same morning, in unrelated circumstances and unknown to each other, Drew's father Nick, also passed away. He is also preceded in death by his grandparents Carl and Patsy Azzalina and Francis Newkirk. Drew was born April 22, 1986, he was the eldest son of Nicholas Azzalina and Patricia (Newkirk) Blankenship. A 2004 graduate of Life Skills of Middletown, like his father, he was a skilled ironworker who worked for Iron Workers Union Local 290. He was a loving father with a huge heart. He loved being in the outdoors and enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and hiking; and was a fan of the Indianapolis Colts. He is survived by his children Tyson Azzalina, Reagan Marie Azzalina, Tristan Marie Azzalina, all of West Alexandria, OH and Maverick Finch of Miamisburg; mother Patricia Blankenship (Todd Gartrell) of Eaton; mother of his first 3 children Shannon Azzalina of Chillicothe, OH; sisters and brother Tarin Azzalina (Kevin Naji) of Amelia, OH, Veronica Carr (Thomas) of Columbus, OH, Erin Azzalina of Eaton and Nicholas Azzalina, II of Eaton; grandmother Judy Newkirk of Eaton; step mom Sharon Azzalina of Eaton; special aunt Gail Allison (Bob) of Eaton; uncle Tony Newkirk (Donelle) of Lewisburg; aunt Brenda Lee of Eaton; nieces and nephews; and many cousins who were like siblings growing up. Visitation and services for both Drew and Nick will be held on Saturday, March 13, 2021 from 2:00 - 5:00 PM at the Preble Memory Gardens Funeral Center - 3377 US Rt. 35, West Alexandria.
