Martha A. Halfacre

Martha A. Halfacre, 84 of West Alexandria, went home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, October 13, 2015 at her home with her family at her side. Born February 23, 1931 in Tazwell, VA, she was a daughter of the late John Daily & Mary Elizabeth (Smith) Smith. She was a devoted follower of her Lord and spent hours each day reading her Bible, praying and listening to southern gospel music. She was a member of The True Holiness Church of God. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death on April 9, 1992 by husband Harold L. Halfacre, whom she married July 1, 1950: sisters Vertie Mae Basford and Helen Dunford: brothers Thomas Smith, John Daily Smith and James Robert Smith. Survived by daughters Delores A. Cole & husband James of West Alexandria; and Elizabeth Gail Halfacre of Celina, OH: grandchildren Michael Lee Cole, Charlene Renee Weiss, Kelly Lynn Rountree, David Harold Halfacre and James Daniel Mitchell: 16 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren: sisters and brother Violet Mitchell, Dorothy Pruett and Ronald Smith all of Tazwell, VA.: along with a host of other family. Friends may call on the family from 6:00 - 9:00 pm Thursday at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria.
