Hobert Moore Obituary

Hobert Moore, age 97, passed away at his home in New Lebanon, Ohio Tuesday, June 9, 2015. Born January 18, 1918 in Roda, Virginia to the late Benjamin Harrison and Luetishia (Childress) Moore. Hobe was a proud member of George Patton's 2nd Armored Division during WWII and followed him from North Africa to Germany. He retired from the United Mine Workers of America and New Lebanon Local Schools. After retiring, he and his family spent an enjoyable 25 years trailer camping at Brookville Lake Resort in Brookville, IN. He was a devoted husband, caring father, proud grandfather, and loyal brother. He was preceded in death by his wife of 64 years, Dorothy Juanita (Nichols); son, Dan Moore; brothers, Rosco, Otto, Gene, and Tommy Moore; and sister Imagene Moore; and beloved family member, Betty Back. Hobie is survived by his daughter Linda Waldron, and sons Harry (Carol) Moore and Mike (Liz) Moore and daughter-in-law Susan Hartman; grandchildren Jeff (Uyen) Waldron, Dottie (Tim) Woodard, Holly (Bob) Murchland, Jonathan (Jennifer) Moore, Melinda Moore, Ben Moore, Erin Moore, Micah Moore, Daniel Moore, and Mary Moore; great-grandchildren Kristen (Dwayne) Henderson, Kayla and Kelsey Woodard, Madeline and Morgan Murchland, Hannah and Danielle Moore, and Jackson Moore; great-great granddaughters Harper and Eleanor Henderson; sister Wanda (Dewey) Yeary:; brother Robert Moore; special family members, Sharon (Jeff) Beneke and Tim Back; long-term caregivers, Vicki Newton and Bonnie (Kirby) Hinds; numerous other relatives and a host of friends. Friends may call on the family from 10:00 am - 12:00 pm Monday, June 15, 2015 at the Happy Corner Church of the Brethren - 7037 Union Rd. - Clayton, OH. Services will follow at 12:00 Noon with Pastors Trent Smith and James Wharton presiding. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Happy Corner Church of the Brethren or the Wounded Warrior Project. Arrangements entrusted to the Robert L.
