Edgar Beare Obituary

Edgar L. Beare, 87, formerly of New Lebanon, passed away on Tuesday morning, November 17, 2020 at Vancrest Health Care of Eaton. Born March 26, 1933, he was second of seven children born to the late Clifford Owen Beare, Sr. and Sarah W. (Clark) Beare. Edgar served with the US Navy from January of 1953 to January of 1957. He was an aircraft crew chief onboard the USS Boxer and (CV 21) USS Wasp (CVA 18). During his time in the Navy, he married his sweetheart, Doris A. Huber on July 20, 1956. Together they had 4 children and were married for nearly 64 years, until Doris' passing on July 13, 2020. Edgar was a hard worker all of his life, working at jobs both full time and part time, providing for his family so Doris could be a stay at home mother. Different places he worked include NCR, Meadow Gold Dairy as a milk delivery driver, part time with the New Lebanon Police Department, as a volunteer fireman with the New Lebanon Fire Department, as a brick layers assistant, in the drive thru for Mary's Pizza in New Lebanon, installing water meters in New Lebanon working for Blosser Plumbing, and with the City of Dayton for 26 years with the Water Department in water distribution. Preceded in death by parents Clifford and Sarah Beare; wife Doris Beare; brother and sisters Donald W. Beare, Joann Davis and Carol Schleiger. He is survived by children Kirk Beare and wife Nedra of Eaton, Donald Beare and wife Anita of New Lebanon, Randy Beare and wife Lauree of Union, OH, and Honey "Missy" Kelly and husband Andy of Brookville; grandchildren Ashley Meek, Benjamin Beare, Amy Pence, Nathaniel Beare, Andrew Beare, Kacey Kelley and Kara Jennings; great grandchildren Wyatt, Isabella, Emma, Olivia, Evelyn, Georgia, Charlie, Henry and Anna Ruth; brothers and sister Clifford Beare, Jr. of Eaton, Kenneth Beare of Eaton and Jean Davis of Eaton. Friends may call on the family from 12:00 PM - 2:00 PM Saturday. November 21, 2020 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria. Funeral services will begin at 2:00 PM at the funeral home with Pastor Aaron Holman officiating. A closing ceremony will follow the at the graveside with military honors. He will be laid to rest next to Doris at Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery. If desired, memorial contributions may be made to the Alzheimers Association.
