Doug Pemberton

Luther D. "Doug" Pemberton, 51, of West Alexandria, OH, passed into eternity suddenly on Saturday morning, June 24, 2017. Born November 22, 1965, he was a son of Luther H. and Cheryl L. (Pollard) Pemberton. Doug's family was the most important part of his life. He was a loving and devoted husband, father, grandfather, son and brother. Other than family, his greatest passion was coaching softball. He began his coaching career when his daughter began to play, then continued on coaching girls high school softball, first on the coaching staff at Lakota East for three years, and currently as varsity coach at Middletown Madison. Doug and his wife were co-owners of DMP Supply, LLC in West Alexandria. He is preceded in death by his mother Cheryl on September 19, 1999. Doug is survived by wife Melissa A. (Summerlot) Pemberton, whom he married February 29, 2000, daughter and son-in-law Tuesday and Tyler Tackett of West Alexandria; grandchildren Wyatt Douglas Lee Tackett, Tylynn Tackett and Daisy Tackett; father Luther Pemberton of West Alexandria; sister Patty Combs of Eaton; brother Darrell Pemberton of West Alexandria; nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews; and his softball family of both the girls and their parents. A service to remember and celebrate Doug's life will begin at 8:00 PM Wednesday, June 28, 2017 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria. Friends may call on the family from 5:00 - 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family greatly appreciates contributions made to the funeral home to help with expenses.
