Velma Combs

Velma Combs, age 83 of Xenia, Ohio passed away Saturday, February 17, 2018 at her home in Xenia. Born on March 24, 1934 in Hazzard, KY; she was one of 6 children born to the late Ruban & Mallie (White) Miller. Velma was a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church in Xenia, OH. She enjoyed gardening and canning, but most of all, spending time with her children and grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by husband Artis Combs in 1999: son Kenny Ray Combs in 1982: grandson James Beverly: siblings Ruban Miller, Farmer Miller, Steven Miller, Elva Neace and Elzie Day. Survived by children Theresa & Ron Lawwill; Patty & Dwhite Cain; Sandy & Gary Beverly; David Combs; all of Xenia, OH: grandchildren Christopher Combs, Johnny Shafer, Tiffany Beverly, Mickey Lawwill, Brian Lawwill, Corey Borton, Joe Combs, Derrick Combs, Amy Koch, Marcus Combs: 15 great-grandchildren: 1 great-great grandchild: as well as many more family members and friends. The family would like to extend a special thank you to the caregivers of Vitas Hospice, Visiting Angels, Arcadia Home Health and Lighthouse Baptist Church for all of the love and compassion they gave to Velma.
