Laurie L. Crowe

Laurie L. Crowe, 45, of Camden, OH, fought her battle with cancer courageously until she entered into eternity on Thursday afternoon, June 8, 2017. Laurie was born February 21, 1972. She was the daughter of Michael and Deborah (Wilson) Pickett. Laurie was an amazing woman who was always willing to open her heart to all around her. Family and friends were so very important to her, and she treated all her children the same. Her love for animals was seen as she rescued St. Bernard's and kittens. She loved the outdoors and nature's beauty as she planted flowers and landscaped around her home, and enjoyed home remodeling projects, inside and out. She had been planning a day trip fishing with her husband, Dave. Laurie and Dave had many adventures together investigating places where paranormal activity was suspected. Laurie's life, her legacy will continue to touch the hearts and lives of all who knew her. She knew David for 20 years, but when the time was right for both of them she married David A. Crowe 6 ½ years ago. She is also survived by both her and David's children Nathan Crowe of New Albany, IN; Tyler (Ashley) Crowe of Dayton; Ashley McGrath of Fairfield, OH; Brandon Crowe of San Diego, CA; Tyler Nutter of Minneapolis, MN; and Shyanne Gunther of Gratis; grandchildren Alex Crowe, Violet Nutter and Scarlett Nutter; parents Michael and Deborah Pickett of Somerville; sister Melissa (Craig) Korecky and their children Elise, Ethan and Rylee Korecky; cousin Emmy Nemeth; special friends Kenny and Heather Thomas and their children Haley and Dakota; Shanna Yates and Jeanna Morrow. A time to visit with the family and share their loss will be from 4:00 - 7:00 PM Wednesday, June 14, 2017 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria. A life celebration service will follow at 7:00 PM with Pastor Dave Oakley presiding. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, please make memorial contributions to the LaurieMalu St. Bernard Rescue Fund at Freedom First Credit Union, Eaton, OH. Burial of Laurie's cremated remains will take place 1:00 PM Friday, June 30, 2017 at Preble Memory Gardens Cemetery. All are welcome to attend.
