Charles E. "Ed" Sliver

Charles E. "Ed" Sliver, 82, formerly of Eaton, OH, of Casa Grande, AZ, passed away Sunday morning, March 8, 2015 at Banner Healthcare in Casa Grande. Born March 16, 1932, he was the son of the late Charles A. & Bertha E. (Avra) Sliver. Ed was a retired State Farm Agent in Eaton: was a US Navy veteran of the Korean War: member and Past President of the Eaton Jr. Chamber of Commerce; member and Past President of the Eaton Jaycees: member of the Eaton Rotary Club; former Ohio Governor of Optimist International; member of American Legion Post # 215 of Eaton; Bolivar Lodge # 82 F & AM; the Scottish Rite and York Rite of Dayton; Order of Eastern Star: and was Eaton's Santa Claus for 45 years. Ed is survived by his wife Nancy (Clark) Sliver whom he married July 2, 1974: children Cheryl E. (Norman) Naas of St. Louis, MO; Cindy S. (David) Biggs of Dayton; Charles R. Sliver of Dayton; Scott E. (Bonnie) Sliver of Dayton; Morgan H. Sliver of Indianapolis, IN; Ann E. (Ken) Dahlin of Stockton, NY; Scarlett L. (Daniel) Wells of Southport, NC: stepsons Lincoln C. (Deidra) Davis of Eaton; and Grant M. (Kathy) Davis of Casa Grande, AZ: 17 grandchildren; 2 step grandchildren: 7 great grandchildren and 2 step great grandchildren: half sister Louise Hileman. Funeral services will be held 2:00 pm Saturday, March 14, 2015 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria. Pastor Scott Sliver presiding. Friends may call on the family from 5:00 - 8:00 pm Friday at the funeral home.
