Byron Lynn Hildreth

Byron Lynn Hildreth, 87, of New Lebanon, Ohio went to be with the Lord on April 10th , 2017 at Vancrest of Eaton. Byron was born in Sherwood, WV to the late George W. and Dessie P. (Eddy) Hildreth. He was married to Retha E. Tenney on September 24th, 1953 near Bruceton Mills, WV. He served in the Korean War as part of the United State Air Force and was honorably discharged. He then received his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting in Dayton, OH. He served as an accountant with the Montgomery County Engineers office for over 30 years. Beyond on his career, he also was a charter member of the New Lebanon Church of the Nazarene and served in many roles throughout the church. He spent much of his leisure time with his family and in his well-groomed garden that he shared with his community via a "you pick" strawberry patch. Byron is survived by his wife of 63 years, Retha E. (Tenney) Hildreth, two daughters: Beverly Ruby (Terry) of Eaton, OH and Regina Fullmer (Ronald) of Brookville, OH. Two grandchildren: Dr. Rodney Fullmer (Vanessa) of Chicago, IL and Rochelle Brown (Joshua) of Murfreesboro, TN. He was also a beloved great grandfather to Ethan and Colin Brown and served as a foster parent to many children. He is also survived by his siblings: Elenor Camp, twin brother Bayard Hildreth and Wayne Hildreth. He was preceded in death by his beloved parents, five half-siblings and five brothers and one sister. Funeral services will be held 11:00 AM Thursday, April 13, 2017 at the Robert L. Crooks Funeral Center at Preble Memory Gardens - 3377 US Rt. 35 - West Alexandria. Rev Thomas Clark will officiate the service. Friends may call on the family at the funeral home from 6:00 - 8:00 PM Wednesday, and from 10:00 - 11:00 AM Thursday.
